STONEHEARTH MODS HAVE CHANGED UPDATE

One of the new features of this update is a definitely deserved Arctic biome overhaul! Definitely deserved because the Arctic, as cool as it is (no pun intended) was somewhat lacking when compared to the other two biomes in the base game.Riot Games, Inc. Not only because it doesn’t have any unique trees (Junipers and Pines were already in the game) but also because they’re the only biome where the trees have no seasonal models at all. The winter is untouched, and retains the original Arctic look many of us really enjoy! We used the already defined grass colors as a base for each season! Now, all of that could be tracked down to the Arctic’s late addition to the game, when Radiant already knew that it couldn’t continue working for much longer and so they’d need to finish off what they could, etc… But none of that matters now what matters is what we can do to improve it!Īnd the first thing we’ve done is to create a “look” for each season and make that look reflected on the trees. Additionally, herbalist beds will also provide faster recovery to incapacitated hearthlings!īut who needs Herbalists as healers if you have a Cleric, right? Hearthlings will prefer these beds when they are injured, which means that you can set up “hospital” areas to treat everyone more easily, keep healing items closer and much more.

Healing, tending the wounded and providing your town with resources for such is one of the most successful mechanics in similar “colony management” games, and in many ways the Herbalist fulfilled that role beautifully… Until you get to level two and turn them into a limitless healing machine.Īt the same time, changing something that has been the estabilished “meta” of the game for such a long time feels both dangerous and potentially confusing for the uninformed… So how could we get the best of both worlds? One of our main goals with the upcoming herbalist healing abilities was to bring the Herbalist back into this interesting, valuable position of a physician. In a nutshell, wounds are special debuffs. They work differently from other debuffs, however - instead of lowering a certain stat or adding a certain penalty, what wounds actually do is much simpler: they reduce the maximum health that your hearthling can be healed to. You can tell that your hearthling is being affected by wounds by noticing that their health display is now changed to an incomplete purple heart - and the maximum value is displayed in red. Hovering your mouse over their health will remind you of that:īut let’s look at the picture before the one above…Īs you can see, wounds have a more noticeable iconography (purple backgrounds with stark white/red symbols) and their brightness is an indication of the wound severity. Wounds come in different types and severities - and all wounds of the same type will have similar icons. Also, the more severe wounds of a certain type will always override lower severity wounds of that type - so you can’t have a low and a high severity wound of the same type at the same time.

The kind of information displayed on that picture is present for all wounds - and just by hovering your mouse over them you can easily tell what’s affecting your hearthling (and how to fix it!).

Clearly a bruise is not a big concern - healing over time or with any sort of treatment, however there are more severe wounds with more dangerous consequences… #STONEHEARTH MODS HEAL HOW TO# Notice that this is a much more dangerous wound.
